Fix /tv/

There's nowhere else to post this or appeal this unfortunately. You can likely relate to this.

Why are the /tv/ jannies so ban happy these days? They never used to be, and that's when the board was fun. Other boards are more lenient and simply delete irrelevant threads without three-day banning anyone who mistakenly posted in it. Every week I get 3-day banned for posting "off-topic", simply responding to an hours-old thread. If the thread were off-topic it would be deleted, maybe banning OP. Sometimes the threads are up for multiple hours so you assume it's fine to post in it.

You can get banned for posting "off-topic" in on-topic threads too. That's not how discussion works. Films and movies depict a wide number of topics, so must every statement be prefaced with a specific reference to a specific scene?

The grounds for what constiutes off-topic is bizarre. Every day someone else can make threads like "kinos for this feel?" and depict nothing related to /tv/, but I reply to a thread with an OP pic of someone who looks like Bill Gates relating to some media spectacle and hours later I'm banned for being off-topic? Isn't Bill Gates a person featured in films and documentaries? He's a public figure. The thread topic relates to a media event. Other times it's something like "thoughts on actresses who look like this?" and a picture of some woman, and those who reply to the thread get banned. It's not clear what the criteria for relevance are.

How are fishtank live threads allowed? I know it's because Sam Hyde pays jannies to keep it up. But it's not a movie or tv show, and it's filled with irrelevant spam that doesn't get banned. How does that get through but not something more closely related to the nebulous concept of /tv/. Soon all /tv/ will be left with is shill thread generals for some shit show nobody is watching. Zoomer trooner-tranny janny buzzkills.

What would you do in this situation?
