My girlfriend and I have been trying (unsuccessfully) for a baby for a few months. I was getting concerned and I asked my girlfriend if she had any history of sexual health diseases.
At the start of our relationship we both had sexual health screenings and came up clear, except that she required a short course of antibiotics for BV. She told me then and multiple times afterwards that she has NEVER had an STD, and she even told me that it was the first time she ever took antibiotics.
Last night I found out that actually, a few years ago she had an infection, some complications in her reproductive organs and had to take a 1.5 month course of antibiotics with her boyfriend, and that they could only have sex with a condom during that time. I found out by seeing some old messages where she was informing her bf and showed him a bag full of medications.
This morning I casually brought up again whether she has ever had a diagnosis for a sexual health problem and taken medication for it, and she straight up told me again that she never took antibiotics before she had to take them for BV.
As I see it there are a couple of possibilities here:
>She is just very ashamed of the STD she had before and so lied to me about it. She knows I really want kids so maybe is worried that I will leave her if she had Chlamydia and it affected her fertility.
>She's just lying because she thinks it's not my business
>She was lying to her ex bf so that he would start using condoms / get his sexual health checked. But this doesn't really make sense because she asked him for money for the treatments and said that she had antibiotics for him too.
I'm not really sure what to make of it lads - should I try to look past this? On the one hand I understand if she wants to keep her medical history private, but on the other hand it feels like a big lie, especially if we're trying to have a baby. Also, what kind of STD requires 1.5 months of antibiotics? Chlamydia is treated in just a week right?
