I also think that people who are funny and see reality that consider themselves on the left are immediately shunned and ostracize from the group..I actually feel sad for all the progressives. Some of them are beyond saving. You can't have so much hate in your life for your whole adulthood and not have it alter you in terrible ways
But others don't jump all the way in, and just feel pulled along a current, at least that's how I felt "doing the right thing" and being "one of the good guys" when I was much younger and more naive.

Despite the title of the thread, its false to measure somebody as "more" or "less" left/right than another. Its lazy and highly imprecise because it implies a binary to an approach to governance; very much on par with the current thrust to "save democracy" whilst promoting a candidate literally less than 2% voted to endorse.

I know it's way to simplistic of a tittle but that's on purpose because the same people that made that meme have not mentioned or thought about Kamala even once before the last two weeks. Their preference and motivation can change in a blink of an eye depending on what the propaganda tells them to...they don't have principals or ideals and can't even think for themselves. I honestly feel that they call themselves left and progressive just because the their enemies call themselves right..

Hmm..now that I think about it, it's akshualyy the other way around. Lefties who are against Israel feel really embarrassed that they share similar views on Israel with right wingers and when discussing the topic go out of their way to explain how they don't like hitler and are not racist ect...and it's pretty funny.

You stopped agreeing with them. That's the real answer.
Most of these memes are innocuous and meh at worst. You just don't identify with them at a time where identifying with them is more important than it was before, so you've convinced yourself it has more to do with the quality of the content and not the intent behind it.

I'm neither right wing nor left wing. As you can see I'm no American so I don't have a dog in the race. I do think tho that the left have lost their coolness, Years ago If someone asked me I would describe myself as more of a lefty time to be honest but they've gone too far, their current state is embarrassing. I know right wingers are also cringe but at I find they have a more of a grasp on reality and while I disagree with their positions I can at least see where they are coming from.

This leads to walls of text with a bigger focus on educating people rather than saying something funny.

To elaborate on this, I think that's the biggest weakness of leftist memes, at least the really bad ones.
They aren't produced to be funny. They're not jokes. They're PSAs, "teaching moments" aimed at a political side that will never agree with them in the first place.
When the memes are made to be enjoyed by their side, rather than lecture the other, like the aforementioned consensual withdrawal example, it's a much better attempt.

Yes I've noticed the wall of text pattern but I never though of the reason you gave, you might be right..
I guess I've always had an unconscious rule for myself when I'm in a social situation and that is - I'd always rather be funny that right! It's just a better way to interact with people and making people laugh is always much better when socializing - everyone is happy.
