>>20918282In summary, Islam is a political and religious system made of Sharia (Law) and Fiqh (Jurisprudence).
Sharia is composed of the Quranic revelation plus several collections of accounts about what the prophet Muhammad did and said while he was alive — in case you don't know, Muhammad was illiterate and didn't write anything, so the accounts about what he did while he was alive were transmitted orally until an imam and muhaddith (scholar of hadith) by the name of Al Bukhari decided to compile a collection of the most authentic ones. Each hadith follows a chain of narration (isnad) to make sure they are authentic, so it's not just hearsay (note the "narrated Aisha" which refers to Aisha bint Abi Bakr and is part of a larger chain).
The Sunnah, or the model practices of the prophet, the last prophet of God, is used to produce rulings (fatwa) through an independent effort where you interpret them (ijtihad). This work constitutes Jurisprudence (Fiqh). There are different schools of Jurisprudence (maddhab) but the Sharia (of which hadith are a part of) is generally the same. Except for Shia muslims who reject Aisha as a valid source of hadith I think.
These comics, which are very funny by the way, are based on hadith. Note that the majority of muslims still use hadith as guidance, they are required to by the Quran to follow the practices of the Sunnah, so it's extra-funny. This is the reason why a lot of them behave like it's the seventh century.
And this is why it either enrages the most schizo ones or it causes the more reasonable ones to try to disavow them.
