It's better to be genetically strong, intelligent, good looking etc than to become these things through self-engineering because that way nobody can try to take it away from you. If you have a positive trait due to genetics then you own that aspect of yourself. If you have a positive trait due to self-engineering then people can always say shit like

This is a huge part of why women care so much about looks and care so little about intelligence. Looks are mostly genetic, and thus good looking men own themselves. Intelligence is mostly genetic too, but that's politically incorrect and everyone is conditioned to believe that it's due to socio-economic conditions. Under this conditioning, intelligent men don't own themselves, they owe themselves to whoever created the socio-economic conditions. Women prefer men who aren't in debt, and thus they prefer men who own themselves over men who owe themselves, thus they prefer good looking men over intelligent men. If people stopped pretending that intelligence isn't genetic then this might change.
