was raised by single mother who ended up prostituting herself out just to make ends meat, i knew hunger and cold, then she got addicted to meth and had plenty of gang involvements, when i was older i moved to my dads and life got a bit better but i rebelled against his rules but I've never touched a hard drug yet so i consider that a win but ive had to do years of therapy to process what happened and things that were hazy etc, if id been with my dad from go id be in a better place for sure, he had his rough stuff to no mind, ive always known it was better than going into the foster care system atleast... i think

parents were technically married, but father was away 99% of the time during early childhood. I only saw him like once every month or two.

I became the only scientist in my family. I do believe it had an negative affect on my develop. My cousin told me once she say how I drastically changed and that if she were to get a divorce she would rather have her kids decided instead of split them. Take that as you will, I guess we noticed my indifference to most things in life.

My father left when he found out my mom was pregnant. They only knew each other for a couple months before she got knocked up.

She raised me on her own for the majority of our lives. Had a few shitty “stepdads” We lived in poverty, I haven’t been to the dentist since I was 11 (I’m 23). I dropped out of high school at 16 and have been working dead-end jobs since. I didn’t have male figures in my life to help guide me or teach me how to grow as a man.

I don’t have a real sense of who or what I am. The only reason why I haven’t killed myself is because my mom would be all alone.
