All it takes it taking a lonely incel type guy into a discord group with a bunch of them, becoming his only friend group, and convincing him that he's an "egg" or that becoming trans solves his problems. People like that get addicted to the praise when transitioning and feel like they're finding meaning that was missing. Add to that the fetish factor of a lot of online nerds getting off to gender bending porn. There's a reason some social groups end up having a bunch of trans people, beyond just them being attracted to similar interests.
That's why I'm going to be very careful with my kids and the internet.
