Can a narcissist be cured? When I look back at my childhood and teenage years it is pretty clear I was a raging NPD case. But as I got older I stopped being so narcissistic. Is this a normal thing? I can't find much on the internet since 99% of NPD content is just losers seething about their exes.

Joking aside, personality is a biological aspect that matures with sexuality. By that I mean you aren't physically mature until 25, and this includes your brain. Adolescence is a time of extreme brain changes, from growing and pruning neurons at an alarming rate, to being soaked in hormones and sometimes drugs, to getting damaged by risk taking behavior teens engage in, etc. It's why major mental illnesses like mood disorder and schizophrenia onset in the teen years. Personality especially is altered with adolescence, with even formerly timid and quiet children becoming bold and impulsive during puberty. Then they change again once it's over. It takes a few years to settle completely. So of course you were an unpleasant little narcissist at that age, everyone was. The important thing is that you aren't one today.

Thanks the lengthy response. I guess I can't diagnose myself as NPD based on my teenage years. But to clarify, I wasn't "an unpleasant little narcissist", I was a criminal and a horrible person.

I would rage, not just get angry, full rage. When someone hurt my retarded inflated balloon ego I would try ruin their lives. Only stopped when one of my shenanigans got a little to physical and I got a criminal charge.

It was ego injuries. I had a massive inflated ego and interpreted any of those slights as an attempt of sabotage. Since I considered myself some sort of chosen one, all punishment was fair game for my enemies. This shit haunts me. I can't go back in time and undo the damage.
