the ethnicity predictions themselves are ass, at least for AncestryDNA. for example, it quite literally does not have "Romanian" or "Hungarian" or any other small nation as an ethnicity, and it just gives you a roughly 50/50 mix of blanket-term "Balkan" and Ukrainian.
when I uploaded my DNA to a model that determines your genetic distance from worldwide population samples, I was given closest match to being Hungarian followed by Moldovan/Romanian, then Croatian and Austrian, which all makes sense as these territories were all part of Austro-Hungary in the past
you can upload it to morleydna for free to get your haplogroup determined, and that's pretty much the main racial thing
