Make sure you say whether your request is cased or uncased (and if you're okay with leetspeak).

If you have a 4-char, I'll end it with a slash automatically. Anything above that, you have to specify that you want that.
You can expect 5-character cased or 6-character uncased immediately.
You can estimate 6-character cased or 7-character uncased within 2-3 minutes, but you're still at RNGsus's mercy.
8-character uncased is estimated at 30 minutes, lower with leetspeak.
You can estimate 7-character cased to be multiple hours.
If you have a long-term one, drop an email if you're leaving or if the thread hits the bump limit. I'll always keep requests in the system, and will deliver no matter how long it's been.
You should also drop an email if you're using it as a password - anyone who reads this thread can see the code otherwise, and I don't delete posts.
Jap characters are faster to generate - if you can't use them because your computer is a piece of shit, make sure to say so.
If you spam the thread, you don't get shit.
