No, they are not. Japanese, Chinese and Korean metropolises showed me that cities can be spotless, modern, functioning, pleasant to be in, well organized and above all, absolutely safe even with 30 million or more people around.

Without travel, I would've remained being a Normie, probably have taken the vaxx and died of myocarditis already.
