If you haven't been living under a rock you know that men are lonelier than ever. Curious:
How many IRL friends do you have?
How often do you meet them?
How often do you text?
Do you speak on the phone?
In my case I have about 3-4 close friends. We meet up on average every fortnight on the weekends. We have a groupchat where we send memes. I speak to one guy on the phone about once a week.
In my dad's generation, (born late 50's) having a big social network was almost inevitable. Everyone gathered in parks, at dance halls and in parking lots, making new friends all the time, drinking, having fun. In his town, people knew my father, or at least who he was. I think that's the common boomer/gen X experience.
Is there anything that can be done about today's male loneliness? How do we get that community spirit of carefree fun back?
