>>21032325You say this like it's a bad thing. Most people have a high time preference and are incapable of the level of financial discipline and foresight required to run any sort of business, let alone manage a rental property. They need a place to live? I need a secondary source of income. Everyone's needs are being met. My friend was a landlord. He had some rentoids evicted because they were wrecking his place and they forgot the part where they had to actually pay him to live in his house. Once they were out, he went down to repair the significant damage they had done to his property. While he was there doing actual work, unlike rentoid work, they came into the house not knowing he was there so that they could strip out the copper and take the appliances. When they stumbled upon him, one attacked him with the hammer he'd brought to help him loot my buddy's property. He shot and killed one of them. And the other will walk with a limp for the rest of her life. Buddy not only faced no charges because it was a clear cut case of castle doctrine self defense, he then fled a lawsuit against the estate of the rentoid that attacked him.
The entitlement of rentoids knows no bounds. But stupid, indolent people do excel at finding their way to an early grave.
