Pontooning is extremely useful and should occur as often as humanely possible. Also please never design your amphibious vehicles to be easy to maintain in their amphibiousness, that would be greatly appreciated as it means more pontooning fun to be had by all.
All the cool spec ops guys and alphabet guys, and any other alpha male types that you look up to because if you don't it's like rolling a natural 1 in the FATAL system, they pontoon.
There is nothing more brave, more worthy of praise, than pontooning across a river using twenty year old equipment under fire control, where an AI can observe you using thirty different methods at once and direct and co-ordinate artillery, bomber drones, fully automated fpv's, CAS, whatever is available.
Because all of that costs processing time. Your face in it's last screaming moments has to be viewed, correlated with other footage to identify you so your relatives are alerted. The video footage has to go through multiple transceivers on its way to the data lake where it is then disseminated throughout all systems as different types of information for different stakeholders. Then the information comes back and production lines need to be altered and software changed and code rectified blah blah blah.
The worst thing you could ever do is just surrender as a group, not even have to cross a river, be taken to Ukraine, and possibly live a long and relatively prosperous life. Because then the AI doesn't have to do anything.
