>>21052393The Americans were not nearly as polished as the Germans in that war especially early on everyone knows this. But I really see no scenario where the Germans overcome their material shortages and total naval inferiority against the US/Bongs as a hypothetical war drug on.
There are too many what ifs though. I mean for starters are we assuming the Germans never make the frankly idiotic decision to invade the soviets and then we assume the soviets dont invade? Also if so, we will never know truly how much impact US material aid to the Soviets actually had, also what if the Japanese never declare war on the US etc etc.? There are far too many hinge points here.
Let's say there is somehow no eastern front, Japan attacks the US and Germany declares war on the US. At that point, we have fronts in the West and northern Atlantic, Italy/Mediterranean, and N. Africa.
Things would certainly be much tougher across the board, but I still see Italy and the Mediterranean being a weak spot. North Africa would be doomed by the complete naval inferiority of the Germans and inability to maintain the Mediterranean. I do think the situation in France and Germany would have been much much tougher for that allies though. You can also pretty much guarantee that the moment things get tough for Germany, the Spviets are jumping in to rip off a piece.
