>>21054093Same. I was working out in the US West Coast for a few months recently and I loved it. Americans on /pol/ complain a lot, but if you're university educated (which is really easy to be if you're from the UK compared to the US). And can land a graduate/skilled work job you can earn between 2x and 4x the salary you can in the UK for exactly the same work. Cost of living is fairly similar with most companies providing health insurance etc.
In my opinion the culture is way better, even if the American dream isn't true the fact that people believe it means they don't have a class system they way we do here. Guns are really fun, first time at a gun range and got to shoot a Barrett .50cal and AK47, full auto uzi etc. Everyone seems to work hard and believe in their own success (this certainly isn't everyone in the country but if you are reasonably successful you will be surrounded by people like this) etc. My favourite spots were the towns in Orange county and in Yosemiti national park, and a few spots in Nevada and Arizona.
Downsides: The centre of big cities are dangerous in a way you never see in the UK, they lack any sort of town centre and a lack of places people congregate. The social scene is dominated by people smoking weed and are anti social while stoned. Everything you pay for feels like they are trying to charge you fees/tips/extras, dispute this you will often feel like you get significantly worse service than in UK restaurants etc. I found myself trying to meet other Europeans because I sometimes felt like an outsider with Americans and somehow much similar in mentality to French, German & Italians (and especially Australians) that I met there than Americans.
Bonus points: it is REALLY easy to get laid with a British accent. Consider it adding +3/10 to your looks.
If you want to do it the easiest way if you have the skills is EB1A or EB2 NIW visas because they don't require a job offer which is what I'm looking at.
