You cannot get rid of organized religion in human societies the same way you cannot get of organized tribes (and inter-tribal warfare) between said tribes.
These are perennial components of the human condition. To erase them is to erase humanity itself. Any ideology trying to "shape a new man" is not only totalitarian in nature but also doomed to fail for this reason.
Maybe we'll move past tribalism at some point in our development, but nature has imbued humans with it for a reason. We're but clothed apes gazing at the sky and wishing we got "the big picture", and for our Creator to love and acknowledge us directly (rather than indirectly)
