Ask him to apologize and take responsibility for fucking you over.
If he apologizes tell him "thank you" for validating what you felt was true.
Tell him :you'll need to think about wether talking to him is worth it."
Wait a few days and call him back if you think "you stand anything to gain" you likely don't - he may be dying - people try and extract a little more chi that doesn't belong to them on their way out.
If he truly apologizes you'll feel it.
No one is perfect.
I went through a similar thing - I'm from hell too.
He apologized and I put up with him a few times overall it was not worth it and I should have told him to just fuck off.
You have to royally fuck up to sever the parent child bond almost for sure he's a psycho of one type or another.
