He had become inexorably separated from his craft. And both parties knew that the craft itself had to continue, in order to clear Jupiter. He was left to his own devices in his suit. Everyone knew the score.
He relaxed a while, accepting it a bit. Okay, this is how it's going to go. He would become part of what the Chinese have called the "wood star". It's quite big. That eye. That fucking eye. But there are eyes on eyes. A god. It is a circle. Okay. Oooohhhhhh oh no. oh no nonononon. I want to go home. He wept. It got bigger. Somehow, he fell asleep for a time.
When he woke, he was staring at black, but with a glow in his peripheral. A headache. He sobbed a bit, but forced himself to wheel round.
Jupiter had grown far larger.
