NASA is testing a new hypersonic plane and you were picked to be the copilot for its maiden flight. Your pilot is a young Indian woman (pic related) with an IQ of 154 and a degree in materials engineering from MIT, where she was also captain of the women's basketball team.

The cockpit is extremely cramped and hot and both of you have taken your jackets off to cope with the high temperature inside. Your seat is right behind hers and your legs are stretched alongside hers to fit inside the slim, aerodynamic fuselage.

Your flight plan takes you across the Atlantic Ocean to a remote landing strip in Norway. As you reach 70 000 feet, your vertical stabilizer stops working and your pilot cannot control the plane's pitch. You both start sweating and your breathing quickens.

The plane is equipped with an escape crew capsule. You suggest ejecting the cockpit into the ocean and wait for someone to come and rescue you. Your crewmate says it's too risky and says she'll instead try to control the plane's pitch and roll by throttling the engines. She thinks she can fly the plane to your destination that way and crash land it somewhere safe.

What do?
