Also being a mostly benign infection makes it a lower priority for public funded drug investigation and less desirable for private funded investigation because public healthcare systems are not as interested on a cure for it so they may not buy the treatment if its too expensive, herpes is annoying but is not lethal like smallpox, consumption, AIDS, hepatitis, cancer etc
