All people are a small part of God and should be respected as such unless they give you a reason not to in which case they get the kirpan. We don't believe there's any ideological basis in discriminating against anyone on physical attributes like race, gender, sexual preference or even their religion. Everyone's the same except in how they behave.
We're not pushovers though and sikhism has its roots in conflict with Muslims and Hindus. That's why the kirpan in the 5 k's is so important. It's a small knife we wear everyday to symbolize our willingness to defend our faith, defend good and defend the people from evil.
There's a lot to sikhism but it's easily the most inclusive and respectful religion. Like we gotta be honest and good in everything we do which is a tall order. If someone asks me for help with something and I have capability to do it I'm obligated to do it.
