Get any supplements containing Chondroitine and Glucozamine(6000mg/day minimum), + collagen and other additives in a mix a from bodybuilding shop. That shit WORKS. You best to take it preemtively, (esp. If you lift), bc cartilage can only regenerate if it is still there.
I had knee pains from heavy lifting in my twenties, use 2-4 cans of this stuff in a year, and no problems at all since, even though i'm much older now, and i still do squats with 1,5BW.
Even reccomended it to my 75yo mother with joint pains, which had "natural and unavoidable" joint pains according to doctors. Shes was doing smaller portions proportional to weight for couple of months, and believe ir or not, it has worked like a charm.
