I just got back from camping and I'm pretty sure I fucked up
I don't even want to post here or a regular board like /pol/ or /out/ or use a lot of detail so I'm going to green text
>deep back country
>2 nights in
>find a large camp site (large for back country, actually somewhat small closer to civilization)
>looks like everyone recently cleared out
>"huh that's cool"
>night 4 about 3 miles up a mountain from the camp site I found
>no fires allowed because of fire concerns
>sleep every night in the dark
>cooking on a small alcohol stove that emits almost zero fire light
>cook times are brief
>In order to conserve my lights I don't use them unless I need them, which is almost never
>drifting off to sleep
>no wind
>dead silence
>hear a man start yelling something incredibly inaudible a long ways away but I can hear it echoing up over from across the valley on another mountain
>loud fully automatic gun fire starts
>I fly out of my tent to see the distant hillside flashing with gunfire
>gunfire continues for a solid 20 seconds, I catch the last 10 seconds of it
>dead silence
>tears are forming in my eyes I'm so nervous and shaken
>dead silence
>I slowly sit down on a nearby rock and watch the mountain side
>20 minutes goes by
>Hear a helicopter
>Helicopter has zero lights on but I can see it in the moon light flying through the valley
>It goes to directly where the gun fire was
>drops down
>zero lights
>takes off 3 minutes later
>zero lights
>dead silence
I couldn't sleep and hiked out at morning light
Just got back into town
Feeling pretty fucked mentally
