Parasites are a hoax. All these creatures are symbiotes. They only and exclusively eat dead or decaying tissues and plant matter (fiber) for the most part.
"Parasites" have been used many times to cure disease.

Same thing with viruses and bacteria. They're a natural, beneficial and necessary part of our organism, without which we would all die.
