two things:
immortality and life extension, are two seperate things
one genealogical and the other magical/alchemical
and thus, I've already solved my problem. Just like create some divide between those born mortal and those born immortal
and these said immortal monarchs used to all be very evil and oppressive thus causing them to be ousted by their subjects and put to death. And afterwards new dynasties rose to power, and they put to death those born immortal
but whats different between old immortals in high ranks of society and the new mortal monarchs is that these mortal monarchs extend their lives with magic and alchemy.
