>>21314763>>21314768>>21314782>>21314785>modafinilTook it for 3 years straight from 2017 to 2020 every single day (strictly 200mg, never more). Then was forced to go cold turkey thanks to the scamdemic.
TL;DR:
- It does not make you feel more energetic like caffeine does, which can be good or bad
- What it makes you feel is "not". Namely, not tired. (this sounds stupid, I know. Yet this is how I would best describe it. It feels less like an added-on, and more like a thing removed)
- You still have to sleep (sadly). Minimum is 4h per night, I recommend 7h. Less than 4h and you feel like a retarded Zombie, less than 7h and you act like a retarded Zombie.
- It does not actually make you smarter, IMHO. At least not directly. But it may make it easier to get smarter.
Regarding every other (legal) Nootropic I tried since 2004: They tend to not really work. At least not in any noticeable way. Piracetam, Vinpocetine, Aniracetam, Xwhatever-racetam, Ginko, Ginger, Vitamin-Whatever, Choline, Q10, Folic Acid, Carnivore Diet, Vegetarian Diet, Intermittent fasting, Intermittent feasting, Noopept, Vitamin-C megadosing, Vitaming-D megadosing...
None of those are really scams, but if you take them, you wont "feel" smarter, even if, according to some papers, you might actually be slightly smarter.
Best way to get smarter: Enough sleep, somewhat healthy eating and the usual learning techniques like:
- Spaced repetition
- Active recall
- Note taking in your own words (bonus: Zettelkasten system, but not necessary)
- Teaching what you learn to others (works with a rubber duck too)
- Perseverance.
