No it wouldn't. When you hear about gun violence you think a normal gun owner committed a crime which isn't the case. Most gun violence is committed by career criminals with guns they bought from the black market.
Getting rid of guns would increase gun violence as only the criminals would have guns. Additionally, you can't remove all guns from our society as you can't reasonably regulate plastic, pipe and various earth elements. The proverbial Pandoras box was opened and we can't put the knowledge back in.
