He never presented his faith as the only true way. Instead he asked all of us at Sunday school to think for ourselves. "Don't take my words as law" he used to say "go out into the world and choose for yourselves". "Whatever you choose, whatever religion or lack of religion, I will always have time for you." As an atheist, that guy (a catholic) is my biggest hero. He doesn't give a fuck what you believe. It is his duty as a catholic to look after you and not try to forcefully convert you. What a legend
