Now, if we take a look at the Old Testament, the religion of the Israelites and later, the kingdom of Israel and Judah, it isn't the same as the modern perversion of it - and that's exactly what it is, a perversion.
Not only do these perverters of Judaism warp the original religion of Israel before the New Covenant; they reject it's numerous prophecies of the New Covenant that is revealed in Christ Jesus.
So we can conclude that who we see today are perverters. To seal the deal, I have scripture here that says who the true (yes, true) Israel and subsequently Jew is. It is revealed, like many other things in the New Testament, the former knowledge was a but a shadow of the truth - a Jew is not by blood bound to Abraham, but promise!
Romans 2:28-29
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Romans 9:8
That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed
Galatians 3:28-29
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
And so it is: the Jew is he that believe in Jesus. That He is the Christ - the Chosen One - and only begotten Son of God.
