>>2139484well, the way the vote is it makes it almost impossible for parties who want a united Ireland to get into power. also (my history is a bit rough) the two extreme parties from the Republican(Sinn fein) and the loyalist side(DUP) have to come together to sign some political thing to allow the vote form a united Ireland. as long as the DUP are allowed to decline the vote they will probably never sign it. also, the catholic majority will take awhile to come into effect. and some Catholics don't like the politics of down south as well.
