On the other hand, the other phenotype of attractive Japanese persons I've seen in AVs is Japanese-Korean (and no I'm not talking Kpopstar kind of Korean – like the Korean kids I used to know in high school).
To answer the original question, of course it's difficult. Go to the right places and with the right people, they look the same. Go back in time, the three languages look very, VERY similar. But now, I can guess who's who by stereotypical appearance (type of makeup, choice of clothing, body type and beauty standards, etc.)
