I quit coke by moving to a new city separating myself from the entire circle of people I did coke with.
Quit weed in college in part by hanging out with completely different people.
Have quit jerking off (for a while) by changing my living situation to one with roommates and less privacy.
Quit being an alcoholic by not going to bars all the time and depending on them for socialization.
Quit being out of shape by getting an intense physical labor job.
Quit being a retard by getting a different job that uses my brain.
Major changes in lifestyle are difficult to just conjure out of thin air. Changing your environment/responsibilities/social ties has a much bigger affect on your lifestyle than just "deciding" to change.
Best way to go about this is to do something that changes your environment, like get a new job, join some new club, pick up a new hobby. Something that requires you to be in a different environment and/or around different people.
