I am not saying these things don't exist, rather that idealism mostly fades in people when confronted with more compelling materialistic reason.
Just take yourself for example. you want a blond boy, that is your materialistic desire, but this is also the reason that you would for example ever want to have a meaningful connection f.e. to viet-bro, no matter how idealistic compatible you may appear to be.
And for this very reason people betray each other and also have betrayed you.
You could say in a way, you have betrayed yourself. But still there is not really a reason to take anything of that personally.
