Something can't come from nothing, but something exists, ergo, there must have been a un-caused causer of all things. Because something cannot come from nothing, that thing which caused all other things must have been eternal.
Whether the singular causer of all things was natural or supernatural is not the argument. No where in recorded physics as we understand it have we ever observed something coming from nothing, so the most logical reasoning we have dictates that whatever the first thing was, it is outside time.
