The most common would be it prevents masturbation, so in terms of BDSM where the sub is sexually controlled by the dom the sub has to beg to be let out of the cage so they can masturbate.
For bottoms the idea is that you HAVE to get off using your arse. For trannies this is super attractive because a lot of us have bottom dysphoria, while a lot of tops have "I'm going to touch your penis even though you said not to" syndrome.
and also there's an asthetic thing to it. A pretty cage just kinda looks femme.
