>>21468506I don't know abou tthe 80's or before, but in the 90's ANY degree was fine ANY job except for doctor, lawyer, or engineer. ALL management and government jobs just required a degree.
Then, in the aughties, they invented the Bachelor of University Studies, where you basically show up, pay the college, and get the degree, without anything hard like a choosing a major and staying sober long enough to pass some bullshit exit exams.
This led to more minorities completing degrees.
Around the same time, they created bullshit degrees like human resources, women's studies, social work, etc.
Then, all the government jobs demanded these because DIVERSITY!
This caused businesses to require more specific degrees too to weed out the completely useless, plus to meet all the bullshit HR regulations and diversity quotas.
This is why White men no longer care about college.
It fails to fulfill it's ONLY function which is to educate a man to make him a useful and productive leader in society.
