twitch has been banning people for the most lukewarm stuff since forever at this point so i'm not surprised this is happening but i'm really glad that native english speakers have yet another subject to extensively discuss and be obsessed about and spend their prime time on these arguments, i do think that participating in online thought battles defending something you shouldn't really care about might have a slight character building effect and maybe those people will eventually understand that being dickheads to people you've never fucking seen that live on the other side of the planet is usually not a good thing both in terms of just being a decent human being and your own mental wellbeing, grey thinking is not a given thing it's something you achieve through years of interacting with the world and the people in most different ways

I am Jewish and detest Hasan and the like so I'm glad they're getting some shit for it and that the double standard is at least getting resolved a bit. Though Dan Saltman is maybe getting a little bit too obsessive over demanding Dan Clancy resign. He's not gonna resign and probably didn't really do anything resignation-worthy yet (that I know of).

And to be clear, I have no problem with people being pro-Palestinian or people like Hasan highlighting human rights violations perpetrated in Gaza, necessarily. Thousands of children being killed is bad. But socialists take this shit to an unhealthy extreme and propagate radical black-and-white thinking on basically every subject, and this is one prime example
