I really wish I were religious. I was raised between two sides of my family, one half Lutheran, the other Roman Catholic. I enjoyed studying the scripture and the spiritual edification that came along with attending mass, but after I turned 12 I just couldn't get into it anymore. It felt like I was pretending. Is religion just imaginary friends for adults?

This isn't meant to be a "checkmate Christians!" fedora atheist thread. I feel like I've genuinely lost my faith, and it left a sizeable void in my life.
