My mom was convicted of Illegal Use Of Food Stamps like 45 years ago. Which is apparently a felony (it was $3k worth).

She was sentenced to 6 months in jail, but the judge suspended her sentence and she served no time. She was also sentenced to 5 years of probation, but she never had a probation officer.

I wanted her to get a gun for personal defense because she's always walking by herself in the surrounding parks. But now I don't think she can own one because of this.

I guess she needs to go to court now and have it expunged from her record...
