People do not undertake such actions lightly, at some point you have to admit something is wrong.
I cannot even begin to fathom how dire my situation would have to be to risk taking my family, especially if I have young children, to mexico, or some other part of south america, then paying some incredibly dodgy coyote to take me across the US border illegally, a trek that in itself is extremely dangerous.
That is not something people who are living in a happy and prosperous country do.
That is something desperate people do. Something a lot of chinese are doing.
