Realistically if you see a woman who is just merely 1 day pregnant drinking alcohol or smoking meth you get mad at her for what she's doing with her baby because she's already a mother at that point, even if the baby is still inside of her. From day 1 she's expected to act as a mother and fulfill her role properly. It only makes sense to allow abortions if you see actual adult women as free-agent clumps of cells with no responsibilities.
This entire push for abortion is just so people can have casual sex with no consequences. The original democrat position was also that all abortion would be "legal but rare," it was never supposed to be a form of contraception, it was always supposed to be something that hardly anyone did and they only did it if they really had to. The "nuanced" discussion is now only held by conservatives, who just get screamed at all the time for it.
