>>21528332>What's Romanian healthcare like? Do you think it's good or it could be better?Public healthcare has improved but it varies from place to place, because it depends on how much each county invested, how much money they put into buying modern equipment and paying doctors to not leave the country. In other counties they have been negatively impacted by low investment and lots of doctors migrated to the EU, so they ended up having to pay doctors from other regions to come and help.
Compared to 10-20 years ago, services have overall improved. They have better tech, more updated knowledge and improved standards. But from time to time, there is a malpraxis scandal somewhere the reveal some appalling neglect for patients, that sometimes led to deaths.
It is what it is, doctors now have some of the highest incomes among salaried staff, but I wouldn't say the quality of their work matches how much more they are paid now. This was done to make sure they won't have an incentive to leave the country and seek higher pay in the EU. A lot of them still left. So many of those who stayed back are older or unwilling to resettle.
