Parents brought some Greek Lamb Chops (Paidakia) so they stayed for dinner, baked some Beer Bread and also finally I nailed the Trigona (Panoramatos) recipe.

Oooh yeah now I see...the same thing as me. Good for you filaraki, I love greek lamb chops. The only thing I'm missing is dzadziki but I was literally cooking 3 things at once and I didn't think of that.

Well I forgot...we already ate. Also I don't have that full fat strained yogurt. Bulgarian yogurt is more watery than Greek yougurt. Tyrokafteri is also very good, have made it a couple of times.

I try to save money because things are tougher than last year for my family. Lentils have around 20 grams of protein dry, and when you boil them they have 9 (per 100 grams both). When you boil them they also triple in weight. It's a cheap healthy food and it's also tasty, but not as tasty as meat

Oh I see...Well when I was kind of low on money I would go buy things on sale, usually if you go buy from butchers big peaces of meat that you have to cut yourself it would be cheaper. Ground meat is pretty cheap and you can make tasty meals with it. Mousaka, pastisgio..you know. I don't know if you are a fan but I love organ meats and they are by far the cheapest, last week I made some chicken livers. They are the most dense nutrient of all the meats btw, it's a shame that most people overlook them. Liver I think has all the 12-13 amino acids and proteins that the body needs to survive all packed in one organ. I didn't used to like em as a kid but then I learned how to cook them (lots of onions) and now I even crave them. I bought 1kg for 3,5 euro from my local market.

I also like to buy chicken carcasses (they sell em at my local store) to make soups and broths, lot's of good collagen and nutrients from the bones, also by some other bones just in general to make broths or enhance foods. All the bones from the lamb my parents gave me that I didn't use because they were too big or didn't have enough meat are going to a collection of bones along with the part of chicken wings that is not edible and when I collect enough I roast em a bit and make a giant pot of bone/meat broth, you can make soups with it, you can cook your lentils in it. I make sauces from it and it's so nutritious - everytime I eat from those broths I feel great the next day.

Last time I was at the the store I saw bones with a little bit of meat ( it was pork and beef ) they were 1,2/1,5 euro for 1 kg. I roast them and boil em and make soup from the little meat that's on the bone. I do this regularly.
