But the guy isn't completely oblivious to the end, Eren's entire life is just dictated by Ymir. He doesn't entirely understand this which is the clear inference to be drawn from his dialogue. He believes himself to have directed Dina Fritz's titan to ignore Bertholdt and instead consume his own mother. In reality, Eren isn't the Attack Titan or Founding Titan yet. That happens the evening after the fall of wall Maria. Ymir transplants false premonitions in Eren as she is freed from the Peace Oath being that she's no longer held by someone of royal blood.
Tl;Dr Eren isn't oblivious. He had is own dreams and desires, it's that Ymir has directed his life since the fall of wall Maria. Eren creates a 4 year dream with Mikasa out of his realized powers instead of 4 minute conversations with the side characters. He had no choice but to pursue Ymir's directive and services the roles of Ymir in the Ymir-Fritz analogue. This is undone only when Ymir witnesses what love really is, and that is not blind obedience, when Mikasa strikes down Eren, saving him from himself.
