I collect old books. I'd sometimes come across these volumes, before I knew what they were, often with quirky topics like op. Reading them, I would wonder wtf is this bullshit, then I realized it was someone's PH. D. dissertation, which they're required to do. The ones I've found are always unintentionally hilarious and a waste of everyone's time. My favorite was a queer theory dissertation on Horror films. Wish I still had that.
