>>21730630Liberalism is center right to center left, and this is one of the many things that liberals can debate within the framework. It's less a set of conclusions, more of a framework. Many liberals advocate mixed markets, with some state control of various industries, such as healthcare. France, Sweden, Germany, etc that are the darlings of left wing thought are deeply liberal states with mixed markets.
A leftist wants total state control of everything to transition us to some illusory "class free" society (whatever that is) and rejects that market forces should ever play a role in anything ever. A liberal will accept Adam Smith as a starting point not an end-point.
>>21730631That's liberalism. Think of Socialists and Liberals as sons of the Enlightenment. They agree on everything BUT the economy. Liberal went off to become a successful politician and businessman, and Socialist became some angry guy in the basement writing angry essays, and at one point tried to run a village but everyone starved so he just doesn't talk aobut it anymore.
