I last saw this girl (center) about 10 years ago and she was really pretty and you could tell she knew it, too. She popped up in my feed today and I recoiled slightly. Where had all that beauty gone in what felt like such a short time? The cracks already starting to show in the lines of her face, her makeup not sitting on her skin the way it used to, the futile attempts to maintain a quickly fleeting beauty all too apparent.
Women... Both worshipped and hated for their beauty, but what is a woman beyond her physical appearance? Outward beauty is transient, and soon we'll all be old, fat, and/or ugly unless we die young. I don't envy them, to have their only or at least most emphasized value stripped away slowly. Can the same be said of most men? Intellect doesn't dwindle so sharply, and in many cases a virtuous character will last forever... but what of beauty?
I say this here because I know there are so many 'incels' that despise women here, but they're really no different than the simps who venerate them -- in the end, both parties put too much emphasis on women, those pitiful creatures whose value derives from a fleeting asset. I leave you with this quote to reflect upon:
"Time is a greedy gambler who wins at every turn of the wheel without cheating. Such is the law. The day declines, the night deepens. The thirst of the abyss knows no end;
The hourglass drains."
