I went to paris expected it to be a piss reeking shithole full of begging gypsies and thieving niggers, and when I went sightseeing that’s that I got. was I disappointed? no. when a friend of mine went to california, the first this he saw after getting to his hotel was two homeless guys sucking each other off in an ally, while a schizophrenic black man paced up and down the street with a machete. he had said he had a good time since he also had low to no expectations for the west coast usa. another friend of mine ended of taking a working holiday to tokyo thinking he would quickly become an english teacher and would bang his cute student-waifus in his low rent apartment in akihabara and then learn to smith katanas from a wise old monk. the only job he could get was cleaning love hotel rooms in exchange for food, boarding and pitiful wage since he didn’t know a lick of japanese. moral of the story, everywhere is shit in it’s own way and lower your expectations a lot.
