>>21917133That’s like sensationalized crap you see on the mainstream media, most people do not really find themselves that much, what I was saying is that idealism is increasingly rare, which coincides with what you were trying to say. Most people aren’t idealistic at all, which basically means they don’t really have very much in terms of values or belief systems because that’s basically what idealism is if you study what idealism actually means. It’s hard to say how most people live day to day, they just take the world at face value and react accordingly, like you said largely based on how they were raised for example.
But I learned that there are actually some people who have belief systems, but most of these beliefs beliefs that you encounter are just somewhere along the lines of, living in an organized and orderly society, supporting draconian law and order justice systems, keeping others in line, being a company man, conforming etc but those aren’t really ideals, it’s rare to find people who have ideals.
I think what you are struggling with is you have ideals on how the world, and others should think and behave, but like I said most people don’t hold such conceptions and merely react or act on the basis of
The environment they were raised in, or how the world appears to be to them.
The media attempts to portray this idea that we live in a functioning democracy and liberal society, but most of it is bullshit. The ideals of the French Revolution and Age of Enlightenment are hardly anywhere to be found, and it’s kept that way on purpose. Btw the French Revolution is why we have the two party electoral system we have now, and even voting for elected forms of government and don’t live in monarchy or feudalism like we did in the past.
I think this is largely what you were talking about.
